Terms & Conditions - Canva Pitch Competition

To enter the Contest, you must:

  • Create and customize a 5-page (maximum) slide presentation in English using Canva Pro that showcases your epic successes, lessons learned or funny stories in presenting (“Contest Guidelines”);

  • Make sure your presentation includes Canva’s new video feature;

  • Submit your presentation link to info@presenttosucceed.com with your full name, your organization, and your contact information, with the subject line “Present to Succeed Pitch Competition Entry”; and

  • Share your presentation via LinkedIn and tag Canva and also Present to Succeed and use hashtags #DesignedWithCanva and #PtS2022 ("Entry").

 

Entries that intend to sell specific products or services will not be accepted.

 

1. Eligibility: This Contest is open only to persons who are 18 years old or older as of the date of Entry. Employees of Canva Pty Ltd (“Canva”), its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (together, “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest. This Contest is not open to any individual in a jurisdiction where the Contest or the individual entering the Contest would be prohibited by law. 

 

2. Agreement to Terms: By submitting an Entry to the Contest, the entrant (“You”) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Terms. You also represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements and that entering the Contest is not prohibited in Your jurisdiction. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of Canva as final and binding as it relates to the Contest.

 

3. Contest Period: Entries will be accepted online between March 22nd, 2022, at 08:00 am CET, and May 8th, 2022, at 8:00 am CET ("Contest Period").  Entries must be received before the end of the Contest Period.

 

How to Enter:

  1. To participate in the Contest, you must create a presentation using Canva that adheres to the instructions laid out above.

  2. Entries are limited to one presentation per person.

  3. Entries must fall under the themes listed in the Contest Guidelines. Entries that contain sexual content, violence or gore, or promote discrimination against any individual or group or that otherwise contain content that in the view of Canva is inappropriate, will not be accepted.

  4. The Entry must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified in these Terms, to be eligible to win a prize.

  5. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the Terms may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Canva.

  6. If You use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent these Terms, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Canva.

 

4. Prizes:

  1. The winner will be selected by a team of Canva-appointed panelists:

  • Ashley Gilgrist - Presentations Product Marketing Manager at Canva and guest speaker at Present to Succeed Conference 2022

  • Pol Narbona - Presentations Product Lead at Canva and guest speaker at Present to Succeed Conference 2022

  • Boris Hristov - Founder of Presentation Agency 356labs and Present to Succeed Conference (“Canva Panel”) based on the criteria set out in section 6 of these Terms (“Winner”).

  1. The Contest is a game of skill, chance has no part in determining the Winner.

  2. The Winner will receive:

    1. Two complimentary VIP registrations to the Present to Succeed Conference in 2023

    2. A 1-hour consulting session with 356labs

    3. A 1 Year Canva Pro Subscription

    4. A US$100 credit to use with Canva Print

    5. A box of exclusive Canva swag/merch.  

  3. Participants that have their presentation selected for the voting round will receive a participation certificate.

  4. Canva will arrange for the delivery of the Canva swag/merch to a postal address nominated by you. The Canva Pro prize will be applied to the Winner’s Canva account shortly after winning. In the event, the Winner has an existing subscription to Canva Pro (whether yearly or monthly) the 1 (one) year subscription will commence at the expiry of the Winner’s existing subscription period.

  5. Canva Print is currently available for limited products in the following regions: Australia (AU), Brazil (BR), Canada (CA), Europe (EU),  India (IN), Japan (JP), Mexico (MX), New Zealand (NZ), Northern Americas & Caribbean, Russia (RU), South East Asia (SEA), South & Central Latin America, South Korea (KR), United States (US).  A full list of Canva print products and in which countries go to https://www.canva.com/print/what-we-print/

  6. All specifics of the prizes shall be solely determined by Canva. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted.

  7. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner.

  8. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Canva to use the Winners’ names, likeness, and Entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation.

 

5. Winners Selection and Notification:

  1. The Canva Panel will select the Winner based on technical execution, level of detail, visual appeal, expression of theme and overall impression.

  2. The panel may ask certain entrants to provide their original design files.

  3. The winner will be announced via direct email, the Present to Succeed website and the Present to Succeed LinkedIn page on May 16th, 2022

  4. To the extent permitted by law, Canva shall have no liability for:

    1. any Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information;

    2. any Winner’s inability to receive or participate in any component of the prize.

  5. If a Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within seventy-two (72) hours from the time notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release (if required), the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Receipt by Winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

  6. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL TERMS BY WINNER, AT CANVA’S SOLE DISCRETION, WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

 

6. Rights Granted by You:

 

By submitting an Entry, You:

  1. understand and consent to Canva, anyone acting on behalf of Canva, and Canva’s licensees, successors, and assigns, having the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your Entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and background information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent.

  2. represent and warrant that your Entry is an original work of authorship by You, and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If your Entry infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, You will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Canva. If the content of your Entry is claimed to constitute an infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, You shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Canva from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense, which Canva may incur, suffer, or be required to pay to arise out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party’s right.

 

7. Canva Rights: Canva reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest in the event Canva becomes aware or reasonably suspects there to be a virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond Canva’s control corrupt that could affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest. In such a case, Canva may select the Winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Canva. Canva reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates these Terms. Canva has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Contest, to reasonably void entries, including, but not limited to: multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by the Terms; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for entering. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Canva reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. By participating in this Contest, You acknowledge that this Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or any other social media site.

 

8. Liability: By submitting an Entry, to the extent permitted by law, You agree to release and hold harmless Canva and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether or not caused by negligence, from: (i) Your participation in the Contest and/or Your acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries. You may have certain non-excludable rights or remedies under law.  These Terms are subject to any non-excludable right or remedy You have under law.

 

9. Disputes: As a condition of participating in this Contest, the entrant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in New South Wales, Australia having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, subject to applicable laws, under no circumstances shall entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than entrant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Contest). Entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

 

10. Privacy Policy: Canva collects information from you (such as your name and details you provide in entering the contest, in order to conduct the Contest and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and prize suppliers. Entry to the Contest is conditional on providing this information.  The postal address details is only required of the ultimate winner of the competition, to deliver the prize and will not be disclosed to any other parties. This section should be read in conjunction with Canva’s Privacy Policy which explains how Canva collects, stores, and uses personal information click here, which also sets out your data protection rights, including  access and correction and how you may complain or raise a query about our handling of your information. Depending on Your location, Your information may be disclosed by Canva outside your jurisdiction as contemplated in these Terms. Please see Canva's Privacy Policy for further details. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to Canva at privacy@canva.com.
